Xbox Series X – $499

Xbox Series X – $499

The hotly anticipated new Xbox Series X has been completely re-engineered, designed for speed and performance. While most of the stats are similar, if not the same, at 12 teraflops it boasts more power than the PS5’s 10.28.

Microsoft is also attempting to differentiate itself from Sony and the PS5 by facilitating a more open ecosystem, especially with PCs. That’s not to say they won’t still be releasing “exclusives” like Halo Infinite, but they’ll be launched on both the Xbox and PC.

Expected to go head-to-head with the PS5 over the holidays of 2020, the Series X is available for pre-order on September 21 for a release on November 11.

If the $500 price tag is a bit much to swallow, Microsoft offers a loan plan (similar to the iPhone Upgrade Program) at $34.99 / month for 24 months, which includes Xbox All Access.
